New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra are just a day away. Tomorrow, 21st October will be the day when voters of both the states will cast their votes to choose their representatives. And the results of the voting will be declared on 24th October. Every party has been trying everything to get maximum votes to come into power.
With the elections, the confusion also returns among the voters regarding the voter id cards, voter list, and polling booths. If you are one of those, who have lost their voter id cards, and are in worry about whether you can vote or not without a voter id, worry not, the Election Commission of India has made arrangements to count your vote without a voter id.

Every citizen of India who is above 18 years of age and is a domicile of polling state have the right to vote. The first thing you will need is to get your name in the voter list or electoral roll. To get registered in the electoral roll, you have to fill and submit Form-6 to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of your assembly constituency, after which your name will be added to the list.
After you registered in the list, you can check whether your name is on the list or not by following the below-mentioned steps;
The voters from Maharashtra can log on to ceo.maharashtra.gov.in/SearchList/ and the voters of Haryana can log on to ceoharyana.gov.in/WebCMS/Start/1559.
After login select your district from the dropdown menu.
Select your Assembly Constituency based on the part of the city you reside in (or the address mentioned in the documents submitted during registration)
Select the exact area of the constituency where your residence (or your registered address falls)
Click on the PDF link delivered after the search and scan for your name from the list arranged in alphabetical order.
After you find your name on the list, half of your problem -- misplaced voter id card -- is solved. Below mentioned are the other id proofs you can carry to your polling booth to cast your vote, which will act as a voter id card.
PAN card
Aadhaar Card
Driving Licence
Passport
Passbook with photograph issued by a bank or post office
Pension document for retired personnel
A service ID card issued by a state/central government or a PSU
MGNREGA job card
Health insurance smart card issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
For the ease of voters, the Election Commission also provides the option to check your polling booth, as many people do not know where they have to reach to cast their votes. To check you polling booth follow these steps;
Log on to electoralsearch.in
Fill out your details like name, age, father/ husband’s name/ gender and click submit.
You can also make a direct search if you have your voter ID card handy, by simply entering your voter ID number.
You can download the Voter Helpline App to find your polling booth.
Voters can call the voter helpline number 1950, prefixed by your area’s STD code.
You can also SMS <ECIPS> space <EPIC No> to 1950 for the details of your polling booth.
