Bypoll Results 2023: Voting for the by-polls to one Lok Sabha seat in Punjab and four Assembly seats in Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Meghalaya was held on May 10 and the counting of votes is underway. The polling was held in Uttar Pradesh’s Suar and Chhanbey, Odisha’s Jharsuguda and Meghalaya’s Sohiong Assembly constituencies. The voting was also held in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat of Punjab.

Uttar Pradesh
Suar: Apna Dal's (Sonelal) Shafeeq Ansari won the Suar constituency. Ansari, contested against SP's Anuradha Chauhan. The seat went vacant after the disqualification of Mohammad Abdullah Azam Khan. Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan, the son of the party's veteran Azam Khan, has been disqualified from the Assembly following a court conviction in a 15-year-old case.
Chhanbey: The Assembly constituency fell vacant after the death of Rahul Prakash Kol. In 2022, the assembly constituency was won by the Apna Dal (Soneylal) by defeating Kirti of the SP. The Apna Dal (Soneylal) has fielded Rinki Kol who pitted against Kirti Kol who contested on SP's ticket.
Odisha
Jharsuguda: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Dipali Das won the Jharsuguda assembly. It is an Assembly constituency, that went vacant after the death of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Naba Kishore Das who died on January 29, 2023. In Jharsuguda, the was a contest mainly between the BJD, BJP and Congress. The BJD fielded Deepali Das, while the BJP has given a ticket to Tankadhar Tripathy. Tarun Pandey, the son of late MLA Biren Pandey fought on Congres ticket.
Meghalaya
Sohiong: United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate Synshar Lyngdoh Thabah From Sohiong. The poll in the constituency adjourned due to the death of contesting candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP) HDR Lyngdoh. Synshar Lyngdoh Thabah of the UDP, Samlin Malngiang of NPP, Congress' S Osborne Kharjana, Sereph E Kharbuki of the BJP, and Stodingstar Thabah of the TMC contested against each other.
Punjab
Jalandhar: Sushil Kumar Rinku, who fought on AAP's ticket won the election. The parliamentary constituency went vacant after the death of Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary. He died on January 14, 2023. Jalandhar witnessed a four-corner battle between the AAP, BJP, Congress, and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). AAP gave a ticket to Sushil Rinku, Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary fought on a Congress ticket, and BJP fielded Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal while the SAD chose Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi as the party candidate.
