Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha Elections: Gautam Buddha Nagar, encompassing Noida and Greater Noida, is gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections tomorrow. The district administration has announced the closure of schools and colleges on April 26 to facilitate the voting process. Spanning Bulandshahar and Gautam Buddha Nagar districts, the constituency comprises five Vidhan Sabha constituencies: Noida, Jewar, Dadri, Sikandrabad, and Khurja.

With an electorate of approximately 26.75 lakh eligible voters, Gautam Buddha Nagar has witnessed varying voter turnouts in previous elections. The district recorded a turnout of 60.47 per cent in 2019, 60.38 per cent in 2014, and a 48 per cent in 2009.

Since its establishment, Gautam Buddha Nagar has seen three Lok Sabha elections. The Bahujan Samaj Party emerged victorious in the initial elections of 2009, while the Bharatiya Janata Party secured consecutive wins in 2014 and 2019.

Gautam Buddha Nagar Voting Date

In the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Gautam Budh Nagar is scheduled to go to the polls on April 26, during the second phase of elections. The voting will start from 7 am to 6 pm on April 26.

Noida Lok Sabha Polls: Key Candidates

The stage is set for a triangular contest among the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

MP Mahesh Sharma will represent the BJP, while Rajendra Singh Solanki has been fielded by the BSP. The SP has named Mahendra Nagar as their candidate, who will also represent the opposition alliance, INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance).

Additionally, several candidates from lesser-known parties have entered the race, Rajeev Mishra (Jai Hind National Party), Naresh Nautiyal (Bhartiya Rashtriya Jansatta), Manish Kumar Dwivedi (Akhil Bhartiya Parivar Party), Ran Singh Dudee (Super Power India Party), Narvadeshwar (Subhashwadi Bharatiya Samajwadi Party), Kishor Singh (National Party), Bhim Prakash Jigyasu (Viron ke Vir Indian Party), and Km Shalu (Loktantrik Janshakti Party).

Independent candidates include Parag Kaushik, Mahakar Singh, M. Mumtaz Alam, and Shivam Ashutosh.

To encourage maximum participation in the elections, the district administration has been organising various voter awareness programs throughout the district. Cinema halls and multiplexes have been instructed to screen a two-minute-long election awareness clip before movie screenings.
