Chandigarh | Jagran News Desk: Most of the exit poll results on Thursday unexpectedly proved to be wrong after the trends showed that the BJP government might fail to get a majority in the state.

This reminds former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s son Deependra Singh Hooda’s tweet who, before the voting on October 24, had said that the people of the state are ready to break the arrogance of the Khattar-led BJP government. He had also asked his followers to save the tweet. Hooda had tweeted this on October 19.

Haryana is heading towards a hung assembly. According to the Election Commission data, the BJP has won on six seats and is leading on 33. On the other hand, the Congress -- which is trying to make a comeback in the state -- has won four seats and is leading on 29. The JJP, which is led by Dushyant Chautala, has won five seats and is leading on five seats.

This is a major setback for the BJP which was eyeing to win the assembly polls on its own and even bag ‘75 seats in its kitty’. Now the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) has emerged as a kingmaker in the state. However, the party has refused to open its cards as the Congress courted it to form government in the state.

Meanwhile, Hooda has asked Dushyant Chautala, JJP Chief, to come and form a coalition government with them in the state so that ‘people’s mandate can be respected’.

“Today, it’s clear that people’s mandate is to throw off Khattar’s government. I want to ask Dushyant Chautala (JJP), independent candidates and other parties to come together and form a coalition government in Haryana so that people’s mandate can be respected,” news agency ANI quoted Hooda as saying.

Hooda also alleged that the saffron party is trying to pressurize independent candidates to join which is against democracy.

“BJP is trying to pressurize independent candidates as most of them want to join us. It can't be accepted in a democracy. Independent candidates should be able to freely choose the party whom they wish to support. I want to appeal to EC about it through media,” he said.
