BJP IS set to utilise Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity among the masses as only few days remain for the Karnataka Assembly election 2023. Prime Minister Modi will join incumbent BJP’s campaign with full force in the poll-bound state of Karnataka this weekend.

A scheduled massive roadshow in Bengaluru on Saturday will be the major highlight of PM Modi's busy campaign plan. The Prime Minister is likely to hold as many as 22 rallies across the state over one week.

The Karnataka unit of Bharatiya Janata Party is still in the process of drawing up a detailed plan for the Prime Minister’s campaign, sources quoted by news agency ANI said. During visit that the Prime Minister makes to the poll-bound state, he will be holding more than three rallies.

"BJP is extremely confident of doing well in the Karnataka election but the moment Prime Minister Narendra Modi hits battleground. It is a different game altogether. There is no bigger momentum for our party campaign to peak," a senior level BJP official informed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold rallies in Humnabad, Vijayapura, Kudachi, and Bengaluru North on April 29. On the following day, i.e., April 30 PM Modi will be holdin rallies in Kolar, Channapattna, and Belur.

The prime minister will then return again to Karnataka next week for a two-day visit. He will then hold meetings in Chitradurga, Vijayanagara, Sindhanur, and Kalaburgi on 2nd May. On 3rd May, he will go on to hold public meetings in Moodabidri, Karwar, and Kittur.

In Chittapur, Nanjangud, Tumakuru Rural, and Bengaluru South, the Prime Minister will hold rallies on May 6. On May 7, which will be the penultimate day before the close of campaigning, the Prime Minister will address 4 rallies in Badami, Haveri, Shivamogga Rural, and Bengaluru Central.

Bharatiya Janata Party is currently in power in Karnataka with Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at the helm. The party is aiming to return to power amid, what most expect to be, a tough challenge from the principal opposition - Indian National Congress. Apart from the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP is using the promise of development with a “double engine” government (an idea that if the same party is in power in the state and the Centre development picks up pace). Karnataka’s state unit has been one of the oldest organisations for the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is the election in-charge of Karnataka. Another Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Annamalai are the co-in charges for the state. Apart from these central level leaders, state’s Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is leading the party’s campaign committee, while Union Minister of State Shobha Karadlaje is convening party’s election management committee.

Karnataka Assembly election 2023 will be held in a single phase on May 10 and the votes cast by voters will be counted on May 13.
