KARNATAKA Assembly Election 2023: Chincholi is one of the 224 Legislative Assembly constituencies in the poll-bound state of Karnataka which comes under the Kalaburagi district and is a segment of the Bidar Lok Sabha seat. This constituency is reserved for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC). 

The voting on the Chincholi constituency along with 223 other constituencies of Karnataka will take place on May 10. The counting of votes for the Karnataka Assembly election will be held on May 13, 2023.

When it comes to the Chincholi constituency, Congress has its dominance in this seat but BJP won the 2019 Assembly Bye-election. Dr Avinash Jadhav, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won the bypolls against Subhash V Rathod who fought on a Congress ticket.

Chincholi Assembly Election 2023:

For the upcoming Assembly election, the Congress fielded Subhash V Rathod while the BJP has given a ticket to Avinash Jadhav who currently represents the Chincholi constituency and Janata Dal (Secular) has chosen Sanjeevan Yakapur. This year, Chincholi will witness a close battle between Congress and BJP.

Chincholi Assembly Election 2018:

In the 2018 Assembly election, Congress candidate Umesh G Jadhav won the seat against BJP candidate Sunil Y Vallyapure with a margin of 19,212 votes (14.56 per cent of total valid votes). Jadhav got 73,905 votes and Vallyapure bagged 54,693 votes. 

Out of 1,93,648 registered electors, 1,33,188 voters turned out for the 2018 Chincholi Assembly election which included general voters, NRI voters, and service voters. Among the general voters, 68,407 were male and 64,154 were female. According to the Election Commission of India, the constituency witnessed a 68.78 per cent voter turnout.
