THE BHARATIYA Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda on Monday released the party's manifesto for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Election 2023. Nadda unveiled a manifesto in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and his predecessor and Lingayat stalwart BS Yediyurappa.

- The BJP has promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Karnataka based on the recommendations given by a high-level committee.

- The manifesto promised to improve the "ease of living" of apartment dwellers in Bengaluru by constituting the Karnataka Residents’ Welfare Consultative Committee to reform the Karnataka Apartment Ownership Act, 1972 and to modernise the grievance redressal mechanism.
- The manifesto also included providing three free cooking gas cylinders to all BPL families annually one each during the months of Yugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi and Deepavali.
- The manifesto of BJP also promised to launch the "Poshana" scheme through which every BPL household will be provided with half a litre of Nandini milk every day and 5 kg Shri Anna - siri dhanya through monthly ration kits.
- In the 2018 Assembly polls, the party included cow protection measures in its manifesto.
- Campaigns are in full swing in Karnataka days ahead of the May 10 polls. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already conducted a number of rallies and held roadshows in the poll-bound state. He held a rally in Mysuru, a traditional JDS bastion, on Sunday.
During the release of the manifesto for Karnataka Election 2023, Nadda said the BJP's manifesto is different from Congress's. It will fulfil the aspirations of youth, farmers and women of the state.
"Our manifesto is different from The Congress' manifesto which talks about guarantees, which has got an outdated warranty. Our manifesto contains a realistic, achievable promise which will fulfil the aspirations of Karnataka's youth, farmers, women, labours, middle class, SC/ST and all sections of the society. Our manifesto is centred around 6 themes," Nadda said.
The polling on 224 Legislative Assembly constituencies will be held on May 10 and the result will be declared on May 13.
