PM Modi's Address In Humnabad
PM Modi while addressing a gathering in Humnabad, accused the Congress of abusing the Lingayat community of the state and said the party has also abused Babasaheb Ambedkar and Veer Savarkar.
Taking a dig at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge for calling him a ‘venomous snake', PM Modi alleged that the grand old party and its leaders have abused him 91 times.
"Congress has started abusing me again. Every time Congress abuse me, it gets demolished. Congress has abused me 91 times...Let Congress abuse me, I will keep on working for the people of Karnataka...," PM Modi was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
PM Modi's Address In Vijayapura
PM Modi while addressing a public gathering in Vijayapura launched a scathing attack on former Karnataka chief minister and Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah and accused him of seeking votes in the name of his retirement from active politics.
He further said that the people of Karnataka will not choose a tired and defeated party. “A Congress leader is seeking votes in the name of their retirement. His biggest poll plank is: 'This is my last election. Give me a chance. What a pathetic state they have reached!” Modi said while addressing an election rally in Vijayapura, as quoted by PTI.
PM Modi also said that his party follows the teachings of poet-saint and the 12th-century social reformer Basaveshwara who was born in Vijayapura. The prime minister made this remark in an attempt to connect with the dominant Lingayat population of Karnataka who are the followers of Basaveshwara.
The prime minister is also scheduled to arrive in the capital city Bengaluru and will hold a roadshow in the city. To avoid congestion and ensure the proper safety of PM Modi, the Bengaluru traffic Police have also issued a traffic advisory.
