Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023:Biaora is a key Assembly constituency that lies in Rajgarh district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It’s a rural seat that comes under the Rajgarh Parliamentary seat.

In 2018 polls Congress’ Govardhan Dangi wrested the seat from BJP by defeating Narayan Singh Panwar by a tiny margin of 826 votes. In the 2013 election, Panwar defeated Congress’ Ram Chandra Dangi by 3,088 votes.
In Biaora, there are over 2,18,278 voters in the seat, which includes 1,12,378 male voters, and 1,05,898 female voters.
Till now the seat saw 15 assembly elections with Congress winning six times and the BJP five times. As many as four elections in the seat were won by independent candidates.
The area is considered as senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh’s stronghold.
The Election Commission on October 9 announced the schedule of polls in five states. Both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress have been campaigning for polls on a war footing. Both parties have announced candidates on all 230 seats of the state.
The saffron party has this times fielded four of its Union Ministers in the upcoming polls.
The BJP has been in power in the state for the last three terms, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the longest-serving Madhya Pradesh chief minister. This time, a neck-and-neck fight is expected between BJP and Congress.

Madhya Pradesh will vote on November 17 in a single-phase election and the counting of votes is scheduled for December 3.
