The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released its manifesto for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, scheduled for November 17. The ‘Sankalp Patra’, a 96-page manifesto was released in the presence of party president JP Nadda, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP state unit chief VD Sharma. Meanwhile, the Congress has already released its manifesto in October.
In its polls manifesto, the saffron party has promised to provide free education to girls belonging to poor families till post-graduation. It has also promised the procurement of wheat at Rs 2,700 and paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal from farmers.
Here’s A Look At Key Promises Made By BJP:
-Free ration to the poor for the next five years.
- BJP has promised to provide Rs 12,000 to farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi and Kisan Kalyaan Yojana.
- The party will launch Mukhya Mantri Jan AwasYojana in the state to provide housing facilities to the poor section of society.
- Gas cylinders worth Rs 450 would be given to Ladli Behna Scheme and Ujjawala Scheme beneficiaries.
- The party would provide a pakka house and financial assistance to the beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Scheme.
- Free education to every school student till Class 12th.
- Rs 3 lakh for the empowerment of the tribal community.
- The party has also promised to establish the Madhya Pradesh Institute of Technology and the Madhya Pradesh Institute of Medical Science in the state.
- Development of six new expressways and 13 cultural sites.
- Nutritious breakfasts will be given along with mid-day meals in government schools.
- BJP has also promised the modernisation of as many as 80 railway stations.
- Rs 20,000 crore investment in health sector to make "high-tech" hospitals and govt aims to double the number of ICU beds.
Here’s A Look At Key Promises Made By Congress:
- The Congress party released its manifesto for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls in October. The party has promised Rs 25 lakh health insurance cover for all citizens of the state, 27 per cent reservation for OBCs, and to form an IPL team of the state.
- In its poll manifesto, the grand old party also promised to bring the procurement price for paddy to Rs 2,500 per quintal and wheat at Rs 2,600 per quintal with a mission to ensure Rs 3,000 per quintal to farmers.
- The party has also set aside Rs 1.01 lakh for daughters under the Beti Vivah Yojana, and under the Meri Beti Ladli Yojana, benefits worth Rs 2.51 lakh will be given to the girl child.
- The party has also promised nine rights to the people of the state including "Right to Water, Health, Electricity, Education, Housing, Minimum Income, Employment Guarantee and Social Justice”.
- The party has also promised the implementation of the Old Pension Scheme and unemployment allowance for youths ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 3,000 per month which is for two years.
The Madhya Pradesh Assembly election will be held in a single phase on November 17 to elect all 230 members of the Legislative Assembly. The counting of votes will take place on December 3.
