Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election 2023: Maihar assembly constituency is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state where the electoral bugle has sounded. Considered as a rural seat, it falls in Satna district and Satna Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. It comes under the Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh and will go to the election on November 17.
There are a total of 2,34,434 voters in the seat, which includes 1,22,816 male voters, and 1,11,609 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Maihar recorded a voter turnout of 77.32%. In 2013 the turnout was 73.01%, and in 2008 it was 72.38%.
For the 2023 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Srikant Chaturvedi as their candidate for the Maihar constituency in the Satna district, while the Indian National Congress (INC) has put forward Dharmesh Ghai.
Maihar Assembly Elections 2018
In the previous 2018 assembly elections, Narayan Tripathi, an independent candidate, emerged victorious in Maihar, securing a total of 54,877 votes. He won the seat by defeating the Indian National Congress candidate, Shrikant Chaturvedi, who received 51,893 votes, with a winning margin of 2,984 votes.
Maihar Assembly Elections 2013
The 2013 elections in Maihar saw Narayan Prasad from the INC securing victory with 48,306 votes, becoming the MLA for the constituency. He outperformed the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Ramesh Prasad, who garnered 41,331 votes, with a margin of 6,975 votes.
Maihar Assembly Elections 2008
In the 2008 assembly elections, Moti Lal Tiwari of the BJP emerged as the winner in Maihar, securing 34,385 votes, while Mathura Prasad Patel of the INC received 20,079 votes. The margin of victory was 14,306 votes.

As the election day approaches on November 17, Raigaon's electorate is preparing to cast votes. The results of the election will be unveiled during the vote counting, scheduled for December 3.
