Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan to the state Governor following his party's defeat at the hands of the BJP in the recently held Rajasthan Assembly election.,

The incumbent Leader of Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, BJP leader Rajendra Rathore, said the defeat faced by the Congress party was imminent in wake of the "bad governance" of the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot-led state government.

"We have received the mandate in Rajasthan. It was confirmed that the bad governance of Congress was going to end... The policies of PM Modi have been approved in all three states. This is a referendum on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. PM Modi's government will be formed once again with a huge majority in the Lok Sabha elections... The new government would be formed in Rajasthan in a few days," he stated.,

Even as Congress prepares itself to give up control in the Ashok Gehlot-led state, Sachin Pilot maintained his grip on the Tonk constituency by a margin of 29475 votes defeating BJP candidate Ajit Singh Mehta. 

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday accepted the Congress' defeat and will be submitting his resignation at 5:30 pm to Governor Kalraj Mishra at 5:30 pm.

"We respect the mandate," CM Gehlot said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday cruised towards a lanslide victory in Congress-led Rajasthan as it crossed the majority mark by 114 votes till 4 pm. The saffron camp won 16 seats in the Ashok Gehlot regime. 

Rajasthan Election Result 2023 Live Updates: Even as BJP managed to secure a favourable position in Rajasthan with leads in 112 seats, Bharatiya Adivasi Party (BAP) candidate Rajkumar Roat won in Chorasi defeating BJP's Sushil Katara by a margin of 69,000 votes.

Rajasthan Election Result 2023 Live Updates: As Congress strifes to gain favourable position and retain its seat in the Ashok Gehlot-led state where BJP has taken a lead in 110 seats, the Chief electoral officer said that the final results expected to turn in by 1.30 pm. 

Congress which has been trailing in Rajasthan since the counting began for the four Assembly elections celebrated in Telangana where party supporters rejoinced at the residence of Congress chief Revanth Reddy and the party's state headquarters. BJP's Vasundhara Raje will take over the top post replacing Ashok Gehlot if the Congress fails to gain ground. 

The Bharatiya Janata Party till around 12 noon was leading in 117 seats in Rajasthan while the Congress was leading on 68 seats. "The Congress Government misled people as they never did what they said and hence the BJP is leading in postal ballot and EVM as well," BJP state president CP Joshi said.

The BJP took a overall lead in Rajasthan, let's take a look at their candidates from the party:

-Former BJP state president Satish Poonia is trailing in the Amber assembly seat by 921 votes, according to the ECI. He is contesting against Congress' Prashant Sharma, who is leading with 16,100 votes.

-BJP's Kirodi Lal Meena is leading in the Sawai Madhopur seat with a margin of 1,177 votes.

-Meena, Rajya Sabha MP, is leading with 3,632 votes, as per ECI

As per early trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken lead in Rajasthan with 114 seats uptil now.

Even as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leads in Rajasthan with 117 seats till now crossing the majority mark, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot managed to keep his lead in Sardarpura which has been his stronghold for over decades now.

Congress candidate Sachin Pilot leads in Tonk constituency after trailing in the initial trends. Till now the BJP is leading with 100 seats while the Congress has 80. 

As initial trends poured in, the BJP took lead with a majority 100 seats in Rajasthan as Congress got 85, as per most TV channels. The Election Commission however, showed that the BJP was leading in 33 seats.

Rajasthan BJP president CP Joshi said that the Congress has not fulfilled the promises that they made in Rajasthan. His statement comes as the saffrom camp reaches the majority mark in the Ashok Gehlot ruled state. "There has always been a difference in what Congress say and what they do. They didn't fulfill the promises they made before coming to power (in Rajasthan in 2018), that's why people have rejected them," Joshi said.

As the saffron camp takes lead in Rajasthan, the election results today will decide the fate of 1,862 candidates with BJP leading in 101 seats. According to some exit polls, the BJP could be forming government in Rajasthan while some opinion polls said that teh both parties will engage in neck and neck fight. 

Early trends showed BJP leading in Rajasthan with 60 seats while the Congress trailed with 50 seats. The Congress government has exuded full confidence in winning the polls however, exit polls have predicted that the saffron camp could form the government in the now Ashok Gehlot-led regime.

Elections for the 199 Assembly seats in Rajasthan were held on November 25. Voting for one constituency could not be carried out owing to the death of a Congress candidate.

Both BJP and Congress have exuded confidence that their parties will form the government with majority. 199 seats in Rajasthan are awaiting their wait with the government that will come to power to play an important role for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

Rajasthan awaits the counting of votes with only 15 minutes left for the process to begin. Counting of votes will take place across the state with election results determining the fate of the candidates of BJP and Congress. The votes will be counted for 199 seats in Rajasthan. The Assembly polls held before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls are crucial for BJP and Congress.

Amid anxious wait for results, both Congress and BJP exuded confidence that the four states will be forming government in the state with full majority. "The voters of Rajasthan have shown full faith and support to the Congress candidates because of our good governance. Our guarantees and the work done by the Congress government over 5 years have ensured a fresh term for us," a  Congress leader said. 

As the party leaders in Rajasthan look forward to the election results, Rajasthan minister and Congress leader BD Kalla showed confidence on Congress victory and said that the grand old party will repeat government.

"I can say that I will get mandate of people of Bikaner and enter the Legislative Assembly," Kalla said.

Ahead of the counting of votes, leaders from across political parties visited the Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple in Jaipur, Rajasthan to seek blessings and offer their prayers.,

Congress supporters on Sunday ahead of the elections gathered outside the party office and burst crackers ahead of the Assembly election results. 

As the clock ticks for the counting of votes to begin for all four states, the Congress leaders and workers offered their prayers at the party headquarters in Delhi.,

As the D-Day looms over Rajasthan, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajyavardhan Rathore on Sunday said, "I am confident that the BJP will register a big win in Rajasthan (Assembly polls).",

For the Rajasthan Assembly elections, polling for seat was pushed back earlier following the death of the Congress candidate. Speaking to ANI on Saturday, Praveen Gupta, the chief electoral officer for Rajasthan, said all arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the counting of votes goes off without a hitch.

The results for the Assembly elections in five states across the north, east and southern parts of the country, is tipped to set the course of the political headwinds going into the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. 

With counting of votes to begin, Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra on Sunday said that the voters have shown their full faith and support to Congress candidates because of good governance of the party.

"The guarantee of Congress and the work done by the Congress government for 5 years, the public wants this government should be formed again. We will form a government with a full majority," he said.

Rajasthan Assembly Election Result: A day before the counting, the probable faces of the BJP for CM in Rajasthan are hopeful of victory in the polls and are visiting temples to offer prayers. Among them are Vasudhara Raje and Satish Poonia, among others.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday expressed confidence that the BJP will get a majority in Rajasthan.
