As Congress is set to achieve a simple majority in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s son and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao on Sunday conceded defeat in the polls and congratulated the Congress for their victory.
"Grateful to the people of Telangana for giving BRS two consecutive terms of Government. Not saddened over the result today, but surely disappointed as it was not in expected lines for us. But we will take this in our stride as a learning and will bounce back. Congratulations to Congress party on winning the mandate." KT Rama Rao wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Not saddened over the result today, but surely disappointed as it was not in expected lines for us. But we will take this in our stride as a learning and will bounce back…
The BRS leader said that he was disappointed with the results and expressed his gratitude towards the people of Telangana for giving two consecutive terms to the party.
According to the latest data shared by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Congress is leading on 63 seats, which is more than the majority mark and set to form the next government in the state. The majority mark for the 119-member Telangana assembly is 60.
Meanwhile, the Congress has emerged as the largest party in Telangana with a majority. Congress state chief Revanth Reddy is making headlines for his significant role in the election campaign. Reddy, who has reportedly established a good relationship with the party's top leadership, especially Rahul Gandhi, addressed several election rallies in a single day and emerged as a state-level leader.
Telangana, which has 119 assembly seats, went to polls on November 30, and the voter turnout was recorded at 71.34 per cent. In the 2018 Telangana Assembly election, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) won with as many as 88 seats out of 119 seats. While the Congress secured a position with as many as 19 seats.
