The election process will be completed as soon as the seventh phase of Lok Sabha voting ends on June 1, 2024. After this, the result of Lok Sabha elections 2024 will be declared on June 4 and then a new government will be formed. With the announcement of election dates by the Election Commission, the Model Code of Conduct came into force in the country. Under this, many restrictions also came into effect.

What Is The Model Code Of Conduct?

The Model Code of Conduct has been prepared with the consent of the political parties. All the parties have agreed to follow the principles and standards of the code of conduct in letter and spirit. The special thing is that the Model Code of Conduct has not been made under any law. It has been made only on the basis of consent.

From When To When It Is In Effect?

The Model Code of Conduct comes into force from the day the Election Commission of India issues the notification for the elections. It remains in effect until the election process is completed. During the Lok Sabha polls, the Model Code of Conduct applies throughout the country, while at the time of the Assembly elections, it applies only in the respective state.

These Restrictions To Be Removed After Removal Of MCC

- New recruitment and new examinations can be conducted.

- Auction of liquor shops and tendu leaves etc. can be done.

- After the removal of MCC, advertisements, hoardings and posters can be used.

- Government schemes can also be announced, foundation stone laid and inaugurated.

- The ban on public gatherings before 6:00 AM and after 10:00 PM will be lifted.

- The government can transfer officers.

- Advertisements can be issued in newspapers and other media including electronic media at government expense.

- On State Day, the Chief Minister, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and Ministers can participate and also give political speeches. An advertisement with photos of the three can also be released.

- Chief Ministers of states can attend the convocation.

- The Minister may use a pilot car with siren and beacon light.
