The calendar year is always filled with highly anticipated music releases and comebacks in the Kpop industry. While a group's comeback can make waves, what truly breaks the internet is when there are cross-group collaborations within the industry. Fans flood the internet with messages of love and excitement for their favourite groups and music. Here are Kpop Collaborations that were the talk of the town at the time of its release.
BTS Suga And Psy:
Psy, the Kpop legend known for his record-breaking hit ‘Gangnam Style’ announced his eighth studio album ‘Psy 9th’ in 2022. The album’s lead single ‘That That’ was released on April 29, 2022, and it featured BTS’ Suga. Psy and Suga jointly produced the song and received positive acclaim from critics and fans. Billboard's list of The 25 Best Kpop Songs of 2022 ranked ‘That That’ at number 20. The song was appreciated for its cool dance moves and upbeat tunes. The song garnered 30 million views within 24 hours of its release.
BTS Suga And IU:
Kpop artist IU's 2020 single 'Eight,' released by EDAM Entertainment in May 2020, was a fan favourite due to the surprise feature of BTS member Suga. The song was co-written and produced by Suga. The song was praised for its confessional style and portrayed IU as an adult woman sharing her thoughts. The song is loved by fans of both IU and BTS ARMYs.
BTS Jimin And Ha Sung Woon:
BTS Jimin and Ha Sung Woon of boy groups Wanna One and Hotshot collaborated for a single ‘With You’ which was a part of the soundtrack of Kdrama ‘Our Blues’. The song was highly appreciated by fans who eagerly waited for its release. The song was released by YamYam Entertainment in April 2022. The song marked Jimin and Ha Sung-woon's first solo entries on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts, landing at number 19 and 14 respectively on the May 7, 2022, charts.
IU And NewJeans’ Hyein:
NewJeans, the Kpop girl group on the rise, appeared on South Korean soloist IU’s talk show ‘IU’s Palette’ and was among one of the most-talked-about episodes. Fans of the two Kpop stars were anticipating future collaborations but it happened real soon when NewJeans’ Hyein featured in one of IU’s songs titled ‘Shh..’ from her latest album ‘The Winning’ released on February 20. The song has a vintage vibe and as per fan theories explores a mother-daughter relationship. With a brilliantly shot music video, the song is getting all of the fans’ love. It also features Joe Wonsun & Patti Kim and has the special appearance of Chinese actor Tang Wei.

BTS Jhope And LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin
BTS Jhope’s upcoming docu-series is accompanying an OST album that has a star-studded lineup which includes his bandmate Jungkook. What has, however, gained fans’ attention is Jhope’s track 4 ‘i don’t know’ featuring LE SSERAFIM’s Huh Yunjin. The song is worth the hype as it is a collaboration between HYBE labelmates BTS and LE SSERAFIM. It is slated to release on March 29, 2024.
