5 Upcoming Top Kdramas On OTT: Korean dramas have been gaining popularity worldwide, especially in India. As they are filled with love, romance, fun and also sadness. The first two quarters of this year have seen some amazing shows released on Netflix such as Queen of Tears, Parasyte: The Grey, The Whirlwind, The Bequeathed and Hierarchy to name a few. However, the most anticipated Kdramas are yet to come on the popular streaming platform. Check out the list of the top 5 upcoming Korean dramas that cannot be missed to watch on Netflix later this year.
Squid Game (Season 2)
The thriller-drama directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk is back with another season. The story will revolve around Player 456, who remained determined to find the people behind the game after three years of winning Squid Game. Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo will reprise their roles and it will also star Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an in pivotal roles. The show will be released on 26th December, 2024.
The Great Flood
Byung-woo Kim’s directorial delves into the story when a disastrous great flood sweeps the planet. On the last day on the earth, a desperate fight happens to save a child from a flooding apartment. The science fiction action drama stars Kim Da-mi, Park Hae-soo and Kim Kyu-na in key roles. The show is all set to release in quarter 4 (October to December) of this year.
Hellbound (Season 2)
Kim Sung Cheol starrer showcase a chaotic world worsened by the continuous hellbound decrees. Lawyer Min Hye Jin of Sodo, The New Truth Society and the Arrowheads get captured amidst the sudden resurrections of The New Truth’s Chairman Jung Jin Su and Park Jung Ja. It also features Kim Hyun Joo, Kim Shin Rok, Hong Eui Joon and Yang Ik Hoon in prominent roles. It is all set to release in quarter 4 (October to December) of this year.
Uprising
Kim Sang Man’s directorial will showcase the Joseon era, during a tumultuous time in the aftermath of war. It will delve into the lives of two childhood friends turned adversaries. It stars Park Jung Min, Kang Dong Won, Cha Seung Won, Kim Shin Rok and Jin Seon Kyu in key roles. The historical war drama is all set to release in the quarter 4 (October to December) of this year.
Gyeongseong Creature (Season 2)
The story will showcase a modern-day where Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee’s characters will each play a new character and their link to the past remains to be seen. It also stars Lee Moo Saeng and Wi Ha Joon in significant roles. The science fiction action thriller is all set to be released in the third quarter (July to September) of this year. However, the date has not been announced yet.
