7 Upcoming Highly-anticipated Kdramas: Kdrama fever seems to be back with full fervour among ardent binge-watchers with recent dramas like Queen of Tears, Lovely Runner and others becoming fan favourites. Here are seven Kdramas with a blend of imagination, fantasy, reality and everything in between that we cannot wait to binge-watch on OTT platforms. 

1. Can You Translate This Love?

With its production beginning in June 2024, this romantic comedy revolves around an interpreter and an actress who speak entirely different love languages. Their polar opposite approaches to love lead to misunderstandings and frustrations as their intentions get lost in translation. Starring Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, the series promises a mix of humour and romance. The Kdrama is expected to premiere in late 2024 or 2025 on Netflix.

2. Love Next Door:

Scheduled for release on tvN (reportedly also on Netflix) on August 17, 2024, Love Next Door is a romantic comedy that tells the story of a woman trying to change her life and a mother's friend's son who knows too well about her embarrassing childhood. Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min star in this drama that explores themes of starting over and the complexities of familial relationships.

3. When Life Gives You Tangerines: 

This melodrama is set to air on Netflix, featuring a stellar cast including IU and Park Bo-gum. It chronicles the life of Ae-soon, a rebel with dreams of becoming a poet and Gwan-sik, a diligent man with a long-standing crush on Ae-soon. 4. Because I Want No Loss: 

Expected to premiere in August 2024 (airing on Mondays and Tuesdays and comprising 12 episodes), this drama follows Son Ha Young, who doesn't want to lose money under any circumstances, and Kim Ji Wook, a part-time cashier at a convenience store. The plot thickens when Ha Young plans a fake wedding to avoid a job loss, recruiting Ji Wook as her fake groom. Shin Min Ah and Kim Young Dae lead the cast in this romantic comedy-drama.


5. All The Love You Wish For: 

This fantasy romance Kdrama stars Kim Woo Bin as Genie, a spirit full of emotional excess, and Bae Suzy as Ga Young, who lacks emotion. Ga Young calls Genie out of his lamp and is granted three wishes. The series, directed by Lee Byung Hun and written by Kim Eun Sook, is expected to be a whimsical and heartwarming tale expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025.

6. Hong Rang: 

Adapted from the novel Tangeum: Swallowing Gold, this historical mystery romance follows the story of a family that becomes wealthy merchants through the art trade in the late Joseon Dynasty. It revolves around the secret of a son who returns after disappearing and his half-sister who pursues the truth. Lee Jae Wook and Cho Bo Ah star in this intriguing drama. 7. The Trunk: 

The Trunk delves into the lives of Noh In Ji, head of a fixed-term marriage service agency, and music producer Han Jung Won, who both disagree with the idea of marriage. This mystery romance drama, adapted from the novel Trunk by Kim Ryeo Ryeong, stars Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo. It's set to uncover the secrets of a strange marriage service when a trunk washes up on the shore. The series will premiere on Netflix
