Aavesham vs Varshangalkku Shesham Box Office Collection Day 4: The Malayalam film industry has experienced remarkable success in 2024, characterised by a string of hits and movies that sparked widespread conversations. The Eid-Vishu season witnessed the release of two significant films on April 11 — Jithu Madhavan’s Aavesham, starring Fahadh Faasil; and Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham, headlined by Dhyan Sreenivasan and Pranav Mohanlal. Despite their distinct genres, both films have swiftly established themselves as major successes, generating impressive box office collections over their opening weekend. Aavesham, however, has surpassed Varshangalkku Shesham as they brace for the pivotal Monday test.

The action-comedy, featuring Fahadh Faasil in the lead, has garnered immense acclaim from both viewers and critics, solidifying its status as a 'blockbuster' in Malayalam cinema. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, this film has made significant waves in the entertainment industry. The film embarked on its box office journey with a strong start, garnering Rs 3.26 crore on its opening day. On first Monday, Aavesham is estimated to have earned around Rs 3.85 crore net in India. The film maintained an overall Malayalam occupancy rate of 54.44% on April 15, 2024, bringing the total collection to Rs 19.85 crore.
Aavesham is a collaborative venture starring Nazriya Nazim, Fahad Faasil, and Anwar Rasheed, with supporting roles portrayed by Ashish Vidyarthi, Sajin Gopu, and Mansoor Ali Khan. Cinematography for the film is handled by Sameer Thahir, while Sushin Shyam is responsible for the music composition. The storyline revolves around three teenagers who relocate to Bangalore for their engineering studies and find themselves entangled in a conflict with senior students. In their quest for vengeance, they seek aid from a local gangster named Ranga. Their interactions with Ranga set the stage for the unfolding events of the plot.
Varshangalkku Shesham Box Office Report
This movie too enjoyed a strong start at the box office, amassing an estimated Rs 3.05 crore in net earnings on its opening day in India. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Varshangalkku Shesham recorded a commendable addition of Rs 2.80 crore on its fifth day. The Vineeth Sreenivasan-directed film has amassed a total of Rs 15.90 crore thus far. On Monday, April 15, 2024, Varshangalkku Shesham maintained a Malayalam occupancy rate of 45.27% overall.
The cast includes Kalyani Priyadarshan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Neeta Pillai, and Nivin Pauly, alongside Pranav Mohanlal. Varshangalkku Shesham delves into the interconnected lives of two friends, Murali and Venu, spanning various timeframes. Hailing from northern Kerala, their trajectories intersect unexpectedly, leading to a profound bond. The narrative unfolds as they chase their dreams of achieving stardom in the film industry, traversing from their hometown to Kodambakkam, Chennai. Along the way, they confront the harsh realities of the industry. While one embraces success and acclaim, the other grapples with adversity, challenging the strength of their friendship.
