Cold Case (Prime Video)

Malayalam-language crime thriller directed by Tanu Balak and written by Sreenath V. Nath, stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Aditi Balan in the lead roles, with Pooja Mohanraj, Anil Nedumangad, Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli, Anand, and Rajesh Hebbar in supporting roles. The plot revolves around two parallel investigations of a paranormal murder case conducted by IPS officer M. Sathyajith (played by Prithviraj) and investigative journalist Medha Padmaja (played by Aditi), whose paths eventually intersect.

Red (Netflix)

Directed by Kishore Tirumala and produced by Sri Sravanthi Movies, the film stars Ram Pothineni in a double role alongside Nivetha Pethuraj, Malvika Sharma, and Amritha Aiyer. It revolves around a murder investigation implicating a civil engineer and his doppelgänger as the primary suspects. Red features music composed by Mani Sharma, with cinematography by Sameer Reddy and editing by Junaid Siddiquii.

HIT: The Second Case (Amazon Prime Video)

Penned and helmed by Sailesh Kolanu, it serves as the second installment in the HIT Universe after 'HIT: The First Case' (2020). The movie features Adivi Sesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Rao Ramesh in pivotal roles. The story centers on Krishna Dev (Adivi), a member of Andhra Pradesh’s Homicide Intervention Team. Renowned for solving murder cases in just five minutes, KD holds a low opinion of criminals, considering them to be unintelligent. However, his perception is shattered when a particularly gruesome case lands on his desk.

Evaru (Amazon Prime Video)

Directed by Venkat Ramji, the film was produced by Pearl V. Potluri, Param V. Potluri, and Kavin Anne, and features Adivi Sesh, Regina Cassandra, Naveen Chandra, and Murali Sharma in prominent roles. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, 'Evaru' is a loose adaptation of the 2016 Spanish film 'The Invisible Guest' by Oriol Paulo. The storyline revolves around corrupt cop Vikram Vasudev as he delves into a seemingly straightforward case of a woman killing her rapist. The music is composed by Sricharan Pakala, with editing by Garry BH.

Game Over (Netflix)

Helmed by Ashwin Saravanan, the film is produced by YNOT Studios and Reliance Entertainment. It features Taapsee Pannu as a woman with PTSD defending her home from an enigmatic intruder. Shot simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, the film was also dubbed in Hindi and presented by Anurag Kashyap. The dialogues were penned by Ashwin Saravanan and Kaavya Ramkumar in Tamil, and by Venkat Kacharla in Telugu. The musical score is composed by Ron Ethan Yohann.

Writer (MX Player)

Written and directed by debutant Franklin Jacob, the movie stars Samuthirakani and Hari Krishnan, with music composed by Govind Vasantha. The story follows a writer stationed at a police department who becomes entangled in an illegal custody case involving an innocent Ph.D. student. The movie premiered in theaters on December 24, 2021, and garnered favorable reviews.
