Jailer 2 Cast And Cameo Details

The makers have been introducing the cast through character glimpses. Vidya Balan was recently introduced as Kantha. She follows SJ Suryah as Bodhi Kalpak and Suraj Venjaramoodu as Dileep.

Vidya Balan appeared in a blue saree with a black blouse, cigarette in hand, walking down a staircase into a room. Her look suggested a character with some real authority.

The makers haven't confirmed her role yet, but a Hindustan Times report claims she'll play Mithun Chakraborty's eldest daughter in the film.

SJ Suryah will be playing a character named Bodhi Kalpak. This marks his first-ever collaboration with Rajinikanth as an actor. His introduction video opened with Suraj Venjaramoodu's voice, introducing him to the audience.

 

National Award-winning actor Suraj Venjaramoodu also joined the cast as Dileep. His first-look video showed him stepping out of a car with a cigar, playing what looked like a stylish villain.

 

 

Along with Rajinikanth, the Tamil movie brings back Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Yogi Babu, and Jaffer Sadiq from the first part.

Several reports suggest Mammootty and Shiva Rajkumar might return for guest appearances, just like they did in the first part. There have also been reports of Shah Rukh Khan and Nandamuri Balakrishna making appearances in the sequel. Mithun Chakraborty had hinted at the possibility in December 2025.

Speaking to Siti Cinema at the time, Chakraborty had said, "In Jailer 2, I am facing so many big actors, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Ramya Krishnan, Shiva Rajkumar and many others. There are so many big artists, and I am on one side facing all of them."

Jailer 2 has reportedly bagged a massive Rs 160 crore deal for its streaming rights. Bollywood Hungama reports that this is the biggest non-theatrical deal in Tamil cinema so far, beating the record previously held by Thalapathy Vijay's Leo.

"It's the biggest non-theatrical deal of the year, as well as the biggest of all time for a Tamil Film, surpassing Leo. Rajinikanth is flexing his superstardom with the sequel to his most loved film of the last 15 years."

Jailer Box Office Collection

The first Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, told the story of Muthuvel Pandian, a retired jailer whose quiet life turns upside down after his son goes missing.

It earned ₹348.55 crore net in India and ₹604.50 crore gross worldwide, as per Sacnilk. The film was reportedly made on a budget of around ₹200 crore to ₹240 crore.

Its strong theatrical run has set high expectations for Jailer 2, which is expected to arrive on a much bigger scale.
