Actor Manoj Rajput Arrested On Allegations Of Raping And Sexually Assaulting 12-Year Old Girl: Reports

Chhattisgarh-born actor, director, and producer Manoj Rajput was reportedly arrested on charges of raping a girl and engaging in unnatural sexual activities, as confirmed by the police. According to a senior police official, the victim, in her complaint, alleged that the accused had been pressuring her into marriage for 12 years, during which time he allegedly subjected her to sexual assault.

Manoj, known for 'Gaon Ke Zero Shahr Mein Hero', was arrested after a 29-year-old woman lodged a complaint at the GRP Bhilai-3 police station. Initially involved in real estate, Manoj made a transition to acting and is actively engaged as a producer and director in the industry. According to the media reports, the police stated that "A girl has come forward alleging that actor Manoj Rajput has been exploiting her sexually under the pretext of marriage since 2011. He threatened her dire consequences if she narrated her ordeal."

"The incident took place when the survivor resided in Bhilai Railway Colony. The rape and exploitation continued until 2023. Following the victim's complaint, we have apprehended the accused," added Rajkumar, the Bhilar GRP police station in-charge.

The police further stated that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and Section 376 (rape) of the IPC. It is evident that the survivor was a minor at the time of the sexual assault. In his defense, Manoj Rajput has asserted that he is being falsely implicated. The investigation is underway

Manoj had previously served time in prison for involvement in land fraud. Furthermore, he faces charges related to unauthorised land development spanning several hundred acres in Durg, near the Nagpur Highway Toll Plaza, where the Durg Corporation had initiated demolition proceedings.
