Prakash Raj’s mother, Swarnalatha, died on Sunday morning in Bengaluru. She was 86 years old and had been struggling with age-related health issues for quite some time. As per the family, her health had been gradually declining due to old age. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, which brought some comfort to the grieving family.

The family revealed that Swarnalatha had been ill for a while, and her condition worsened in recent days. Despite medical care and support, her body could not cope with the challenges of aging. She spent her final moments in the presence of close family members. Soon after the news broke, relatives and close associates gathered at the residence to offer their condolences and support.
In the past, Prakash Raj had openly talked about his mother’s health struggles. He revealed that she was diagnosed with a brain cyst and had to undergo surgery. Sadly, the operation led to significant memory loss, affecting her overall well-being.

Prakash Raj has often spoken about how his mother shaped his life with strong values and discipline. Talking with Times of India in 2013, the actor called her queen and has shared that her simplicity and strength inspired him deeply.
He said, “She is my queen and is with me wherever I go. She is an innocent soul who was brought up in an orphanage, as her mother died when she was 12 and her father was unable to take care of her. She became a nurse, which was when she met and fell in love with my father, who had been admitted as a patient."
The actor mentioned that her struggles and sacrifices taught him resilience, and her guidance played a key role in shaping both his personal life and acting journey.
