Actors Who QUIT Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: TMKOC stands as one of Indian television's most enduring and cherished shows. Premiering in 2008 and created by Asit Kumarr Modi, this sitcom has consistently excelled on the TRP charts despite various challenges over the years. Known for its light-hearted humour and captivating storytelling, the series depicts the everyday lives of the residents of Gokuldham Society, a fictional housing complex in Mumbai. The show’s central character, Taarak Mehta, is an aspiring writer who shares humorous and insightful tales about his neighbors. Despite its success, the show has seen several cast departures due to creative differences, unresolved financial issues, or reasons that remain unclear.

Here are the actors who quit the show:

Kush Shah

Fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah were taken aback when Kush Shah revealed his departure from the show. In a video posted on the show's official YouTube channel, Kush reflected on his journey with the series. In the video, Kush bids goodbye to viewers, "When this show started, when you and I first met, I was very young. You have given me a lot of love since then. And this family has given me as much love as you have given me. I have made a lot of memories here. I have enjoyed a lot here."

Disha Vakani

Disha Vakani, renowned for her role as Daya Gada, took a break from TMKOC in 2017 due to personal reasons and has not returned since. Following her maternity leave for the birth of her daughter, Disha has not resumed her role.

Gurcharan Singh

Gurucharan Singh, who played Roshan Singh Sodhi, left the show in 2018 due to personal reasons. He chose to prioritise his father’s health, taking time off to be with him. Although there were rumours of disputes between Singh and the production house, he never publicly confirmed these issues. Following his departure, Balvinder Singh Suri, known for his role in Dil Toh Pagal Hai, stepped in to take over the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi.

Shailesh Lodha

The actor who portrayed Taarak Mehta departed from the show in 2022, marking the end of a significant chapter for the series. Earlier this year, Shailesh Lodha also left the show due to creative differences.

Raj Anadkat

Known for his role as Tapu, he announced his departure from the show in 2023. He took to Instagram to confirm the news, revealing that he has ended his association with both the sitcom and its production team. In his post, he expressed gratitude to his supporters and extended best wishes to the team for the future. Raj took over the role from Bhavya Gandhi, who had originally played Tapu for nine years.

Neha Mehta

She played Anjali Mehta but left the show in 2020. Paired with Shailesh Lodha, who portrayed Taarak Mehta, her role was central to the storyline. Neha's departure in 2020 was due to disagreements with the production house, and she was subsequently replaced by Sunayana Fozdar, known for her role in Qubool Hai.

Monika Bhadoriya

Known for her role as Bawri (Baga's girlfriend), she gained popularity through the show. In 2019, she chose to leave the sitcom to explore new opportunities. She was part of the show for nearly six years.

Nidhi Bhanushali

Nidhi, who played Sonu Bhide, left the show to focus on her higher education. She was pursuing a BA degree at a Mumbai college and chose to dedicate more time to her studies. Consequently, Nidhi decided to exit the sitcom. Palak Sindhwani later took over the role of Sonu.

Bhavya Gandhi

He left the show after more than eight years. Initially known for his antics, Tapu quickly became a household favourite, and Bhavya earned widespread acclaim as one of the show's most cherished stars. Following Bhavya’s departure, 19-year-old Raj Anadkat took over the role.

Jennifer Mistry

Jennifer Mistry, known for her role as Mrs Roshan Sodhi has been a key part of the show's ensemble cast. As Mrs. Sodhi, Jennifer portrays a vibrant and endearing character, adding a unique charm to the Gokuldham Society's dynamics. Her portrayal of Roshan's wife has won her many fans and solidified her place as a beloved figure on Indian television.

Munmun Dutta

Well-known for her role as Babita Iyer, she was a beloved part of the show since its inception in 2008. Her portrayal of Babita has made her a household name and a fan favourite over the years.
