Adah Sharma has addressed the backlash she received after moving into the Mumbai apartment where late actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in June 2020. The apartment, located in Mont Blanc Apartments in Bandra, had been rented by Sushant for Rs 4.5 lakh per month starting in December 2019. Adah shifted to the apartment earlier this year, and her move sparked controversy, with some accusing her of using Sushant's name for publicity.
In response to the criticism, Adah shared her perspective during an interview. She explained that as a public figure, it’s impossible to react to every opinion, stating, "As an actor, or even as a person, you cannot react to everything that's been said. We all have a lot of things to do in life. Also, this is a free country, and everyone has the right to have an opinion." Adah emphasized that she remains true to herself and doesn't feel the need to justify her choices, saying, "I am not here to tell anyone 'I am a good person' or give them reasons for my actions. I did what I had to do and I know myself."

Adah expressed her fondness for the apartment, describing it as a place filled with positive vibes. Earlier, in an interview with Bombay Times, she revealed that the decision to move was influenced by her love for nature. She said, "I’m very sensitive to vibes, and this place gives me positive ones... I wanted a home with a view and ample space to feed birds." The home in Bandra, with its large windows and peaceful surroundings, resonated with her memories of the greenery at her family homes in Kerala and Mumbai.
Though reports in August 2023 claimed that Adah had bought the duplex apartment, her team later confirmed that she had indeed moved into the rented flat, which spans over 3,600 sq ft and boasts a large hall and three bedrooms.
