Aditi Rao Hydari recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post featuring herself, her husband Siddharth and world chess champion D Gukesh. In the post, Aditi praised Gukesh for his remarkable achievements and described him as a “true hero.”
Sharing a selfie with the young chess prodigy, Aditi introduced Gukesh as the reigning world chess champion and expressed her admiration, saying, “A winner who inspires, but not only because he won! A true hero! Ruling with his mind, his grace, and his heart."
Aditi also shared her thoughts on the brilliance of young chess players and the sacrifices made by their families. She wrote, “I had the opportunity to meet many chess champions today… incredible minds, determined and spirited. And one of them was all of 8! The parents who recognise the brilliance of these champions and sacrifice so much to work so hard along with them! Respect. A salute to you all."

Fans appreciated Aditi’s recognition of young talent, with one commenting, “How sweet of you to appreciate him on your platform. Recognizing young talent inspires innovation and builds stronger bonds across generations." Another added, “Parents’ support is everything in any creative field."
For those unfamiliar, D Gukesh made headlines last year by winning the World Chess Championship in Singapore. He dethroned China’s Ding Liren in a dramatic finale, becoming the second Indian to claim the title after Viswanathan Anand, a five-time world champion.
Gukesh’s journey to the top is nothing short of extraordinary. Born to a doctor and a microbiologist, he began showcasing his talent early, winning the U-9 crown at the Asian School Chess Championships in 2015 and the U-12 World Youth Chess Championship in 2018.
At just 12 years old, Gukesh became the second youngest Grandmaster in history, narrowly missing the record by 17 days. By 2023, he surpassed the ELO 2750 rating, becoming the youngest to do so and replacing Viswanathan Anand as India’s top-ranked chess player—a significant milestone after over three decades of Anand’s dominance.
