On June 12, 2025, Boeing 787 Dreamliner, carring 242 passengers, including the crew members, crashed mid-air in a medical students' hostel in Meghani Nagar, Ahmedabad. 241 out of 242 passengers and crew were killed, leaving the world in a state of shock. Among the casualties was a cabin crew member Roshni Rajendra Songhare, who is also a travel influencer on Instagram with over 61k Instagram followers.

Maharahtra MLA Ravindra Chavan confirmed her death, stating, "We are profoundly saddened by the tragic demise of Ms. Roshni Songhare from Dombivli in the devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad. As a dedicated flight crew member, her untimely loss is a heart-wrenching tragedy. May her soul attain eternal peace."

Who were the 12 cabin crew members on board?

The aircraft was under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal with First Officer Clive Kunder.

Other cabin crew members: Saineeta Chakravarti, Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam Sharma, Deepak Pathak, Maithili Patil, Irfan Shaikh, Lamnunthem Singson, Roshni Songhare Rajendra and Manisha Thapa.

On Thursday, Boeing 787 Dreamliner took off from runway 23 of the airport and crashed in a medical student's hostel. The plane was carrying 169 Indians, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese and 1 Canadian. It tragically fell of the sky after reaching 425 feet. Captain Sumeet issued the Mayday call, but everything burnt into ashes before any action could be taken.

However, only one passenger on seat 11A of the aircraft has survived the crash.
