Ahn Hyo Seop is reportedly preparing for a heartwarming return to the romantic comedy genre with the upcoming K-drama Today Was Also Sold Out. If confirmed, this project will mark his first rom-com drama since his wildly popular role in Business Proposal, leaving fans buzzing with excitement.
The new drama, directed by Ahn Jong Yeon of Seoul Busters fame, promises a healing romance narrative. It follows two dedicated, hard-working individuals who use their busy lives to mask emotional scars. As they cross paths, they begin to lean on one another, finding comfort, healing, and ultimately love.
Ahn Hyo Seop is said to portray Matthew Lee, a mysterious farmer whose quiet life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Dam Ye Jin — a home shopping host battling chronic insomnia. Their evolving relationship is expected to deliver a touching journey of mutual healing and warmth, resonating with viewers looking for an emotional yet uplifting story.

Adding to the excitement, Chae Won Bin, known for her performance in Sweet Home, is reportedly in talks to star alongside Ahn Hyo Seop as Dam Ye Jin. Her agency, Outer Universe, confirmed they received the offer and are currently reviewing the project. If the two actors confirm their roles, this fresh pairing has already sparked anticipation among fans, who are calling them a “great duo.”

The script for Today Was Also Sold Out is penned by rookie writer Jin Seung Hee, adding a fresh narrative voice to the project. While Ahn Hyo Seop's agency, The Present Company, acknowledged the offer and mentioned he’s positively considering it, official confirmation is still awaited.
Apart from this potential drama, Ahn Hyo Seop is gearing up for the highly anticipated action-fantasy film Omniscient Reader, slated for a July 2025 release. Based on the popular web novel Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, the film follows Kim Dok Ja, an ordinary office worker who finds himself transported into the world of his favourite apocalyptic novel.
He joins forces with the novel’s original protagonist, Yoo Joong Hyuk, to rewrite the story and save the world. Ahn Hyo Seop takes on the role of Kim Dok Ja, with Lee Min Ho as Yoo Joong Hyuk. The star-studded cast also includes BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, and Nana.
