Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s upcoming film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, has a new release date. The film, directed by Neeraj Pandey, will now hit the screens on August 2, 2024. This announcement was made on social media by both Ajay Devgn and Neeraj Pandey, who shared the updated poster with the new date.

The initial release of Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was postponed to avoid clashing with the film Kill, starring Lakshya and Raghav Juyal. Karan Johar and Guneet Monga produced Kill which was set to release on the same date. The decision to reschedule was taken after distributors and exhibitors requested the producers to avoid this clash, allowing Kill to enjoy a solo release.

Ajay Devgn shared the updated release date with a heartfelt post on his social media, writing, "The wait ends on 2nd August!". Neeraj Pandey also shared the new poster, adding, "Dear friends, The new date for our release is…"

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha marks the first collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Neeraj Pandey. The film features an unusual romance spanning 22 years, filled with crime and violence. Ajay Devgn and Tabu play the lead roles, with Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar portraying their younger versions.

Ajay and Tabu have a long history of working together in films like Drishyam, Golmaal Again, De De Pyaar De, Drishyam 2 and Bholaa. This film adds another feather to their collaborative cap.

In a recent interview with News 18, Neeraj Pandey discussed his decision against using de-ageing technology for Ajay and Tabu. He described it as an “abuse of technology” and emphasised that casting younger actors for the roles was a more fitting choice for the story. “We were very clear from day one that there would be two different sets of actors to portray two age groups because that fits the story and that, I think, is the beauty of it. People change after 24. Our physical appearance changes,” he said.

Ajay Devgn has a busy slate ahead. He will reprise his role in Rohit Shetty’s Singham 2, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Akshay Kumar. Additionally, he will appear in Raid 2 alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor and return to the romantic-comedy genre with De De Pyaar De 2, co-starring Rakul Preet Singh and R Madhavan.
