Akshay Kumar is one of the most celebrated actors in the Indian film industry. Creating a legacy for himself, he has delivered several hits and has a strong command over action, comedy, and patriotic films. Completing more than a decade in the industry, he has accounted for a plethora of films in his kitty and has stood up for several societal issues via his cinematic presence. However, the trolls on social media often found a reason to run him down as he accepted the Canadian Citizenship in the 2000s.
But, the actor is officially an Indian on the 77th Independence Day of India. Sharing the news on his social media handles, the actor posted a picture of his Indian Citizenship and wrote, “Dil aur citizenship, dono Hindustani. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!"

Years ago, due to some personal circumstances, the actor had to opt for the Canadian Citizenship. Despite being the highest taxpayer in the last decade in India, the actor had to face hate over the years.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is currently riding high on the success of his recent release 'OMG 2' with Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The film will soon enter the Rs 100 crore club.
Talking about his professional front, the actor has a plethora of films in his kitty including ‘The Great Indian Rescue’ which is a biopic of Jaswant Singh Gill. He will next be seen in ‘KC Shankaran’ and also has Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.’
