Drishyam 3: Akshaye Khanna, who is currently enjoying the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar, has reportedly exited Drishyam 3 due to monetary and creative differences. According to reports, the actor may have stepped away from the much-awaited sequel after discussions with the makers failed to reach a middle ground. However, reports also claim that negotiations are still ongoing and nothing has been finalised so far.

According to a report in Bollywood Machine, following Dhurandhar’s phenomenal box office performance, Akshaye Khanna asked for a significant increase in his remuneration. Along with the fee hike, the actor reportedly also requested changes to his on-screen look and certain creative aspects of his role in Drishyam 3. These demands are said to have led to disagreements, eventually resulting in his reported exit from the project. Despite the buzz, reports suggest that the makers are still in talks with Akshaye Khanna, and no official statement has been released by either the actor or the production team. It remains to be seen whether the actor will return to the franchise or if the filmmakers will look for a replacement.

Dhurandhar Box Office Update

The speculation comes at a time when Akshaye Khanna is riding high on one of the biggest successes of his career. Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, continues to dominate the box office weeks after its release. According to trade website Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 17.25 crore net in India on Day 19, taking its total Hindi net collection to around Rs 590 crore. With this milestone, Dhurandhar has surpassed the Hindi box office numbers of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which ended its Hindi run at Rs 582.31 crore. The spy action thriller opened to strong numbers and earned Rs 207.25 crore in its first week, followed by Rs 253.25 crore by the end of its second week.
