Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are often in the limelight, thanks to their captivating on-screen chemistry and their much-loved real-life relationship. However, Ranbir frequently finds himself targeted by trolls, with some labelling him as a “misogynist” or “unsupportive” based on various incidents.
Recently, a video from Raj Kapoor's 100th birth anniversary celebration sparked controversy online. The clip appeared to show Ranbir ignoring Alia, leading to a wave of criticism against the actor. Many social media users were quick to judge, accusing him of being dismissive toward his wife.
In response, Alia subtly came to Ranbir’s defense by liking an Instagram Reel titled, "The Ranbir Kapoor they don’t post about." The video showcased unseen moments from the event, highlighting Ranbir’s caring side as he attended to Alia and his older family members.
The caption of the video read, “The side of Ranbir that social media doesn’t show. They cut a 2-second clip out of context and run a whole lot of negative PR with it. Meanwhile, this is the reality. It’s crazy to me how easily people can be fooled.”

Alia’s quiet yet meaningful endorsement of the post indicates her unwavering support for Ranbir amidst the backlash. Ranbir’s sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, has previously addressed the constant trolling her family faces. In an interview, she expressed that the public often misinterprets Ranbir and Alia’s actions or statements, leading to unnecessary negativity.
“They adore each other and are amazing parents to Raha, who is the most beautiful child ever. They don’t let public opinion affect them,” Riddhima shared. She also praised Alia, calling her a warm and giving person. “Alia is amazing. She does everything wholeheartedly and has a special bond with our family. Her kindness extends to everyone, including my mom,” Riddhima added.
On the professional front, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of Alpha, the seventh instalment in Yash Raj Films' spy universe, set to hit theatres on Christmas 2025. She is also collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. The film, initially slated for Christmas 2025, will now release on March 20, 2026. Additionally, fans can look forward to Brahmastra - Part Two: Dev, which is expected to release in 2026.
