Alia Bhatt is gearing up for her upcoming movie Jigra where she will be seen alongside Vedang Raina. The film, directed by Vasan Bala, has already completed its shooting, and interesting details about Alia's preparation for her role have emerged.

In Jigra, Alia plays a character with a passion for basketball, as per a Times of India report. To portray this role authentically, she underwent extensive basketball training. A coach was assigned to her on the sets, who not only taught her the rules of the game but also the basic movements like dribble, double dribble, passing, and dunking the ball in the basket.

Vedang Raina, known for his role in The Archies, will be playing Alia's brother in the movie, adding an exciting dynamic to their on-screen relationship.

What makes Alia's role in Jigra even more noteworthy is that she is not just the lead actress but also the producer of the film. In a recent interview with Film Companion, Alia expressed her excitement and sense of responsibility about venturing into production.

"I believe stories are everywhere, and stories are everything! I turned producer with Eternal Sunshine to tell some of these stories, ones that evoke emotions and leave an impact. Our first production, Darlings, got so much love that it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time," she shared.

Apart from Jigra, Alia has an exciting lineup of projects. She will be seen in Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zara alongside Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, as well as headlining YRF's Spy Universe movie. Additionally, she has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’ with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in her pipeline, promising audiences an array of versatile performances.
