The Telugu cinema industry in India is towards a rise. At the 69th National Film Awards, the Southern film industry created an uproar with lines of accolades in their kitty. Several Telugu films such as SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, Sukumar’s ‘Pushpa’, and Buchi Babu Sana’s ‘Upenna’ won big. The Southern entertainment market has been delivering promising hits in the past years, let’s take a look at some of the major announcements and release date updates coming this week.
Nagarjuna to hit 100-film mark
With just two more films pending in his kitty, superstar Nagarjuna will soon hit the 100-film mark. The talks on his 99th film is going around the rumour mills, with the makers of the film to announce the official title on August 29. As of now, the film is titled ‘Nag99.’ The actor might act in the Telugu remake of the Malayalam film ‘Porinju Mariam Jose.’
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’
Superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna is all set for the release of his action-comedy ‘Bhagavanth Kesari.’ The film also features Kajal Aggarwal, Arjun Rampal, and Sreeleela in pivotal roles. The film is helmed by Anil Ravipudi. The makers are planning to release the film in October, to increase the buzz and to avoid clashes with big releases such as ‘Salaar’ and ‘Jawan.’ The film's first track will be released on September 1.

Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming collaboration
Pawan Kalyan will soon be collaborating with ‘Saaho’ fame Sujeeth for ‘OG.’ The film’s official teaser will be released this week and is touted to be a period-action thriller. The film will also feature Priyanka Mohan in the lead role.
‘Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire’ trailer release
‘Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire’ starring Prabhas and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles will hit theatres on September 28. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. The trailer of the film is likely to be released this week.
Release date of ‘Pushpa 2’
Allu Arjun recently won the Best Actor award at the National Film Award for ‘Pushpa.’ The makers of ‘Pushpa 2’ are planning to announce the release date of the film this week, maintaining the buzz of the film.

‘Jawan’s Trailer
Shah Rukh Khan’s Pan-India release ‘Jawan’ contains big names from the Southern film industry. Directed by Atlee, and starring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, the film also features Priyamani and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles. The trailer of the film is touted to be unveiled this week.
