Amaran Box Office Collection Day 8: Sivakarthikeyan's powerful drama based on the life of Major Mukund Varadharajan, has continued its exceptional run at the box office. In just eight days, the film has earned an impressive Rs 114.60 crore net in India, with an estimated Rs 5.50 crore added on its eighth day alone, according to Sacnilk's early estimates.
The film, which also stars Sai Pallavi, had a strong start, collecting approximately Rs 109.10 crore net in its first week. The latest figures underscore the audience's positive reception of Amaran and the strong word of mouth it has garnered. The film has captivated viewers, particularly in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu-speaking states, with high occupancy rates in theatres.
Amaran Box Office Collection Day 8:
On Day 8, Amaran maintained notable occupancy in Tamil Nadu at 29.44%, with morning shows reaching 22.09%, evening shows at 32.10%, and night shows peaking at 35.48%. In the Telugu states, the occupancy was even stronger, averaging 31.47% across various shows—morning shows at 25.08%, evening shows at 32.20% and night shows at a high of 41.48%.
The film, directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, has received praise for its emotional depth, with Sivakarthikeyan’s portrayal of Major Mukund drawing appreciation from fans and critics alike. Sai Pallavi, who plays Major Mukund's wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese, has been lauded for her emotive performance, though her Malayalam pronunciation has drawn some criticism. As per a Times of India report, some reviewers noted that while her acting is commendable, her pronunciation in a few key scenes felt distracting. This issue highlights the casting decisions in Tamil mainstream cinema, where actors from other regions often play characters with specific language nuances.
