Amaran World TV Premiere: Amaran, the Tamil movie starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has been one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024. The Ashok Chakra awardee Major Mukund Varadarajan's life served as the inspiration for Kamal Haasan produced movie. With almost Rs 320 crore in box office receipts, the movie was unstoppable.
The chapter on Major Mukund Varadarajan in Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh's book India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes served as the inspiration for Rajkumar Periyasamy's film Amaran. Major Mukund's journey and that of his wife, Indu Rebecca Varghese (Sai Pallavi), are chronicled in the movie, as is his eventual death in a terrorist strike in Kashmir.

The highly regarded movie, which has won praise from all throughout the nation and stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, will open at 8 PM on January 26, India's Republic Day.
