Badshah's Latest Song Legal Controversy: The recent controvery surrounding rapper Badshah’s Haryanvi song Tateeree has hit the internet by storm. With the Haryana State Commission For Women ordering his arrest and the seizure of his passport, the rapper is facing one of the most significant challenges of his career. However, this is far from the first time Badshah has found himself entangled in legal disputes and public outcries over his musical output.

Badshah Paagal Song Controversy

In 2020, Badshah’s name surfaced fo being involved in the alleged purchase of fake social media followers and YouTube views. The Mumbai Police questioned the rapper after he claimed his song Paagal had shattered world records. During the probe, the authorities alleged that the artist had paid substantial sums to boost his digital presence.

While the rapper denied any wrongdoing, the incident sparked a massive debate regarding the ethics of 'click farms' in the music industry. At the time, the police stated that the rapper confessed to spending around Rs 72 lakh to gain 72 million views in 24 hours to set a world record, a claim his team later contested.

Badshah Genda Phool Song Plagiarism Dispute

Perhaps the most famous controversy prior to the current row involved the 2020 hit Genda Phool. Shortly after its release, social media users pointed out that the iconic folk lyrics were actually written by a veteran Bengali artist, Ratan Kahar, who was living in poverty.

The rapper was accused of cultural plagiarism for failing to credit the original creator. To resolve the matter, Badshah reached out to Kahar and provided financial assistance. Reflecting on the incident, Badshah released a statement saying, “I would like to reach out to him and do whatever I can to help him,” eventually ensuring the folk artist received the recognition he deserved.

Badshah Sanak Song Controversy

Badshah has frequently been criticised for lyrics perceived as objectifying women or being culturally insensitive. Before the Tateeree controversy, his song Sanak faced intense backlash from priests in Ujjain. The track reportedly used the name of Lord Shiva alongside objectionable lyrics.

The outcry became so severe that an FIR was threatened. Later, he issued a public apology, stating, “I never intended to hurt public sentiments,” and subsequently edited the lyrics to remove the references.

In the current crisis involving Tateeree, the Haryana Women’s Commission has taken a hardline stance against the depiction of minor girls in school uniforms within the video. Chairperson Renu Bhatia has remained firm, telling the press, “I have ordered SP Panipat to get Badshah arrested from anywhere, any place and issue search orders.” Although the rapper’s legal team argues that “everyone has the right to present their side,” the commission’s refusal to grant an extension suggests that the rapper's past record of controversies may finally be catching up with him.
