Superstar Rajinikanth is currently gearing up for the grand release of his much-awaited film 'Jailer' scheduled to release on August 10. Amid all the buzz for his upcoming film, the actor has already begun working on 'Thalaivar 170' directed by TJ Gnanavel. The yet-to-be-titled film is planning a powerful ensemble cast with some big names from Bollywood and South cinema.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, 'Thalaivar 170' will reportedly feature megastar Amitabh Bachchan, and Malayalam actors Fahadh Faasil and Manju Warrier, with Telugu actor Nani. Having a promising strong cast, the makers of the film are yet to announce the final crew and are keeping things under the sheet.

If the reports are true, then 'Thalaivar 170' will mark the reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan after 32 years. The senior Bachchan is considered to portray the key role in this Rajinikanth starrer with Manju Warrier as the female lead in the film. On the other hand, Fahadh Faasil will be seen in the role of an antagonist and superstar Nani will be making an extended cameo appearance in the film.

Earlier, it was also reported that Chiyaan Vikram was approached to play the role of antagonist in the film, however, the actor rejected the role due to his busy schedule. The film is reportedly based on a true incident in which Rajinikanth will be seen essaying the role of a cop.

'Thalaivar 170' is produced by Lyca Productions, whereas the music score is given by Anirudh Ravichandran. The film is likely to be released at the end of 2024.

Talking about 'Jailer', the film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on August 10. 'Jailer' is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and co-stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff, and Mohanlal in pivotal roles alongside Rajinikanth.
