Animal Box Office Collection: Sandeep Reddy Vanga's latest directorial venture, 'Animal,' has surpassed Sidharth Anand's action-packed film, 'Pathaan,' starring Shah Rukh Khan. The Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol starrer has now amassed a commendable total of Rs 544.93 crore (nett), securing the second-highest grossing position for 2023, trailing behind only Atlee Kumar directorial 'Jawan.'

Following its debut on December 1, 2023, the movie has continuously gathered significant profits. Ranbir Kapoor's film has solidified its standing as a box office sensation, marking its fifth weekend by amassing an impressive collection of Rs 4.07 crore. This feat allowed it to surpass Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan,' which had previously attained Rs 543.09 crore (nett) at the Indian box office, according to Sacnilk.
Despite the arrival of competitive releases such as 'Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire' and 'Dunki,' 'Animal' has demonstrated remarkable staying power in theaters. However, the movie's next milestone is to challenge the success of 'Jawan,' the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Ranbir Kapoor
In an interview with India Today, Sandeep Reddy Vanga unveiled that Ranbir Kapoor was his initial preference for the lead role in the mega film 'Animal.' Vanga expressed that Ranbir was his sole consideration for the project, stating, "Ranbir was my first choice for 'Animal', there was nobody else."
The filmmaker narrated that shortly after 'Kabir Singh,' he approached Ranbir Kapoor with the idea for 'Animal.' During their meeting, he provided a brief narration outlining the beginning, middle, and end of the story, focusing on the character's transformation. "In the beginning, when I had the idea right after 'Kabir Singh', I met him after a few months and told Ranbir that I was thinking along these lines, I gave him 10-15 minutes of narration, just the beginning, middle, and end. We told him about the craft and just the character transition. He said Sandeep this sounds very interesting, finish the script and we will do it. Just based on the 10 minutes narration he said yes to the film."
