Vicky Kaushal's 'Sam Bahadur' is maintaining a steady pace at the domestic box office. On its eight day, the film raked in Rs 3.25 crore following Rs 3.05 crore on Day 7, bringing its total earnings to Rs 42.05 crore in India. The movie, directed by Meghna Gulzar and centered around the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, boasts a stellar cast including Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, and Neeraj Kabi. Despite its clash with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' on December 1, 'Sam Bahadur' opened with Rs 6.25 crores on its first day, marking a promising start at the box office.
Talking about this box-office face-off, trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh claimed that a 'solo release would have benefited' Sam Bahadur. He wrote, "Sam Bahadur stands on its feet, despite a hurricane called Animal… Riding on glowing word of mouth, the day-wise growth - mainly at key metros - saw the biz witnessing a spike on Day 2 and 3…The weekend numbers would have been higher than what it is today, had it averted this clash [with Animal]. A solo release would've benefited the film tremendously since Animal has eroded its business… The weekend numbers would've been higher than what it is today, had it averted this clash."
