Anime Movies On Netflix: Anime has gained a lot of popularity across the world and its massive fan following has reached India as well. From trending on streaming platforms to having its merchandise to hosting fan events, anime has become a cultural phenomenon in India. If you are a new anime fan and are starting out to dive into the world of anime, then we have curated a list of anime movies you can watch on Netflix.  

1. Spirited Away

'Spirited Away' revolves around Chihiro Ogino, a ten-year-old girl who, while moving to a new neighbourhood, enters the world of Kami. She takes a job working at the witch Yubaba's bathhouse to find a way to free herself after her parents are turned into pigs. The movie won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 75th Academy Awards, making it the first and only hand-drawn and non-English-language animated film to win the award.

2. My Neighbor Totoro

'My Neighbor Totoro' revolves around a professor's young daughters Satsuki and Mei, and their interactions with friendly wood spirits in postwar rural Japan. The Hindi dubbed version of 'My Neighbor Totoro' is available on Netflix. It also explores themes such as animism, Shinto symbology, environmentalism and the joys of rural living.

3. Howl's Moving Castle

'Howl's Moving Castle' revolves around Sophie, a young milliner who is turned into an elderly woman by a witch who enters her shop and curses her. She later meets a wizard named Howl and gets caught up in his resistance to fighting for the king. The movie is set in a fictional kingdom where both magic and early twentieth-century technology are prevalent.

4. Kiki's Delivery Service

'Kiki's Delivery Service' revolves around a young witch Kiki, who moves to a new town and uses her flying ability to earn a living. The movie explores the themes of the struggle between independence and reliance among teenagers.

5. A Whisker Away

'A Whisker Away' revolves around Miyo Sasaki, who falls in love with her classmate Kento Hinode but gets disappointed after her feelings are not reciprocated. She gets transformed into a cat but enjoys getting attention from Kento.

6. Ponyo

'Ponyo' revolves around a goldfish, who gets transformed into a young girl due to her father's magic and falls in love with Sosuke, her rescuer. It is written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki and is streaming on Netflix.

7. The Wind Rises

'The Wind Rises' revolves around Jiro Horikoshi, who became an aeronautical engineer during WWII times. The fighter aircraft designed by him gets attention and is used by the Japanese Empire against its enemy. The movie is a fictionalised story of Jiro Horikoshi, the designer of the Mitsubishi A5M fighter aircraft.
