Yesteryear actress Anu Aggarwal, who rose to fame with her debut film Aashiqui in 1990, experienced a life-altering event that put a halt to her burgeoning career. Despite the film's monumental success, Anu's journey in Bollywood was cut short due to a serious car accident that not only altered her physical appearance but also resulted in memory loss.

Reflecting on her past, Anu shared her emotional experience of re-watching Aashiqui after the accident. In an interview with the Indian Express, she revealed how disconnected she felt from the person she saw on the screen. "I watched the film Aashiqui when I had lost my memory after the accident. My mother played it for me, but I couldn’t relate to it at all," Anu recounted. She added, "I couldn’t relate to the girl on the screen! My mother kept saying, 'That’s you!' I watched it over and over again like a kid, but I couldn’t make the connection."

Despite not recognizing herself, the emotions portrayed in the film resonated deeply with her. "I couldn’t believe that the girl on the screen was me, but I felt the emotions. The film had such strong emotions. That’s why people are still talking about it. Ultimately, the audience reacts to what they see and during the film, they throw money at the screen, laugh, and cry. That happened because the film moves you," Anu explained.

Anu Aggarwal's career took a significant turn after the accident, prompting her to step away from the limelight. However, she recently expressed her desire to return to acting. "My first bread and butter came from modelling, the entertainment business, and then films. I am an actor. I was away for a very long time, but I am here to act. I have started meeting filmmakers, I am ready and I am already hearing scripts. I will sign something that I like," she said.
