Anupamaa is one of the popular shows that recently received a lot of attention for all the wrong reasons. Several well-known actors left the show and their alleged disagreement with Rupali Ganguly. Madalsa Sharma, Gaurav Khanna, Paras Kalnawat, Nidhi Shah, Sudhanshu Pandey, and numerous others have said goodbye to the show. This time, Alisha Parveen's abrupt replacement by the makers made it to the headlines. Adrija Roy will now essay the role of Rahi in the Rupali Ganguly-led popular show.

Alisha Parveen's abrupt replacement has caused shockwaves and her abrupt termination without warning is all the more shocking. Adrija Roy, best known for her time in Imlie with Sai Ketan Rao, will now assume her position.

Who Is Adrija Roy?

Adrija Roy's journey to prominence started with her remarkable work on Bengali television, which made her well-known and household. When she made her acting debut in the Bengali television series Bedini Moluar Kotha in 2016, her career took off. She featured in several other well-known Bengali television series, such as Durga Durgeshwari, Potol Kumar Gaanwala, Jai Kali Kalkattawali, Mou Er Bari and Bikram Betal.

With her breakthrough performance as the title character in the hit series Imlie in 2023, she made her foray into Hindi television. The 25-year-old actress, who was born and reared in Kolkata, moved to Mumbai in 2022 in search of better job prospects.

In fact, in the Zee TV series Kundali Bhagya, Adrija Roy portrayed Dr. Palki Khurana. She replaced Sana Sayyad, who left the program because she was pregnant. Adrija joined the popular long-running show in May 2024.

Alisha Parveen REACTS To Replacement

Soon after the news of Alisha Parveen being replaced on Anupamaa made it to the headlines, the actress reacted to the reports on her Instagram story. Since she doesn't know what happened, she wrote in a note that she was too surprised by the same news. "It is shocking and disappointing. I am not sure what exactly happened and why I am replaced. Today was my last day on the set of Anupamaa. It was a fantastic opportunity and everybody loved my chemistry with Shivam Khajuria. But I have no clue why I was suddenly replaced (sic), "Alisha Parveen said.
