South superstar Anushka Shetty has been suffering from a rare laughing disease. This condition is also known as Pseudobulbar Affect (PBA). The actress shared that she cannot control her laugh as she keeps on laughing for 15-20 minutes at a stretch. Anushka aka Sweety Shetty, also stated that when she starts laughing the shoot has to be halted for a while. The Baahubali actress also termed it as a big problem for her as it created an impact on her work. PBA is a neurological condition which affects the brain and causes outbursts of emotions like laughter and crying. The symptoms can show up at any point of time. 

In an interview with interview with Indiaglitz, Anushka Shetty shared her day-to-day challenges in facing this neurological disorder. She said, “I have a laughing disease. You might wonder, ‘Is laughing a problem?’ For me, it is. If I start laughing, I can’t stop for 15 to 20 minutes. While watching or shooting comedy scenes, I literally roll on the floor laughing, and the shoot has been halted many times.” 

Anushka Shetty is known for her notable works in movies like the Baahubali franchise, Arundhati, Size Zero, Vettaikaran, Lingaa, Vedam, Bhaagamathie, Rudramadevi, Vikramarkudu, Yennai Arindhaal and Nishabdham to name a few. The actress was last seen in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty in 2023. The romance-comedy drama also stars Naveen Polishetty, Sonia Deepti, Jayasudha, Murali Sharma, Abhinav Gomatam, Tulasi Shivamani and Nassar in key roles. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix.

Anushka Shetty will be next seen in Rojin Thomas’s Kathanar. The horror fantasy has been made on a budget of a whopping Rs 100 crore. The Malayalam movie also features Jayasurya, Sanoop Santhosh, Prabhu Deva, Vineeth Radhakrishnan, Jiyad Irani, Kulpreet Yadav and Kiran Aravindakshan in significant roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres in December this year.
