Asthram is a new addition to the Tamil cinema. To make Shaam starrer available for viewers online, Aha has bagged the streaming rights. The movie will stream on Aha Tamil from May 9. The streamer made the announcement on X, stating, "Action-treat on the way friends. #Asthram premieres from May 9th on namma @ahatamil."

The Tamil movie was directed by debutant Aravind Rajagopal, along with a screenplay co-written by Jegan M. S. Asthram starring Shaam and Niranjani in the lead roles, along with Venba, Aroul D Shankar, Nizhagal Ravi, Nira, Ranjith DSM, Jiva Ravi, and Videsh Anand in key roles. The film is backed by DSM Dhana Shanmugamani under Best Movies.

Asthram Movie Story

The Tamil movie centres around a series of mysterious suicides, with common yet disturbing patterns where victims are discovered stabbed in strikingly similar ways. Inspector Akilan embarks on a mission to solve the mystery. He partnered up with rookie officer Sumanth to trace a link between the suicide cases. The duo come to a chilling revelation and something more sinister. During the investigation, they find evidence, a book titled Chess: The Secret. After this, Akilan uncovers connections between a psychiatrist named Rudhran, a powerful businessman named James, and his son Martin. Then, past flaws of Rudhran help to connect the dots with the present case. As the cops dig deeper, they find more evidence, revealing a tangled web of secrets. Although the storyline didn't captivate audiences on the big screen, the makers are trying to reach a wider audience to make their movie a success.
