Asur 2 Review: 'From here on, you begin your journey to eternity.' This line from 'Asur 2' gives a heads-up to the viewers about the captivating ride the show will take you through. The crime thriller web series is back with even more violence and focuses on the aftermath of serial killings that happened in the first season. Starring Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti in the lead role, the first two episodes of 'Asur 2' has been released on Jio Cinema and are available to stream for free.
Plot:
After the gruesome deaths of Riya and Lolark Dubey, Nikhil Nair, Naina and Dhananjay Rajpoot are left in a helpless state and race against time to catch Shubh Joshi. They try to unravel the truth behind Shubh's past and seek revenge before he puts the life of the public in danger.
Review:
'Asur 2' starts off where it ended in the first season and shows how the characters are facing the repercussion of serial killings and losing their loved ones. The show captures your attention from the start and keeps you hooked with more plot twists. The pacing of the first two episodes is absolutely perfect as it keeps you invested in the storyline without rushing anything. Moreover, the background score deserves special mention as it perfectly portrays the tension in several nail-biting scenes.

Whereas, the cinematography beautifully showcases the essence of different cities like Benaras, and Darjeeling, among others. The story has been told through different timelines but it does not confuse the viewers by complicating the plot.
The amalgamation of mythology with modern technology has been showed flawlessly in the first two episodes and it makes the show even more interesting to watch. The characters in 'Asur 2' will put the viewers into a moral dilemma because of their choices throughout the episodes.

Acting:
Barun Sobti as Nikhil Nair shines in both episodes and portrays his agony on screen with such ease and perfection. His character turns into a grieving father after losing his daughter but still believes in the law for getting justice. Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi gives an earnest performance as ex-CBI Dhananjay Rajpoot, who has turned into a rebel to seek revenge.
Anupriya Goenka and Ridhi Dogra get their moments to shine as their characters take new turns in the second season. Meanwhile, Visheh Bansal as Shubh Joshi steals the show and will impress you with his powerful on-screen presence. Gaurav Arora and Amey Wagh put forth sincere performances in their limited presence in the first two episodes.
Final Thoughts:
Similar to the previous season, 'Asur 2' is a must-watch if you are a fan of a crime thriller. The show has the element of suspense perfectly balanced with mythology, which makes the premise even more intriguing. The writing and editing are the real hero of the story and the star cast will impress you with their sincere performances.
