Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was anticipated to have a strong first-day performance at the box office, but it fell short of expectations, earning around ₹2.00 crore net in India. According to sacnilk, the film had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 9.16% on Friday, August 2, 2024, with morning shows at 6.32%, afternoon shows at 9.10%, evening shows at 9.22%, and a slight uptick to 12.01% for night shows, with a notable 13.00% collection in Chennai.
This marks one of the weakest openings for a major film star, making it Ajay Devgn’s lowest debut in 19 years. Despite this, the film could still gain traction with positive word of mouth in the coming days, though it faces stiff competition from Ulajh, starring Janhvi Kapoor.

Starring Tabu and Ajay Devgn, the film has been produced with a total budget of ₹100 crores, which covers prints and advertising expenses. The film is being released on approximately 2,500 screens across India.

Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha chronicles a couple’s love story over 23 years, from 2000 to 2023, exploring the emotional depth and evolving dynamics of their relationship across two decades. Krishna (Ajay Devgn) becomes entangled in a series of murders and is sentenced to life imprisonment, leading to his separation from Vasudha (Tabu), who eventually marries Abhijeet (Jimmy). After 22 years, Krishna is granted a pardon and is released from prison, longing to reunite with Vasudha. The film builds up to a poignant final meeting between the two.
