Awarapan 2: Emraan Hashmi Finally confirms the highly anticipated sequel to Awarapan, released in 2007. After dropping major hints about Awarapan 2 two weeks ago, the actor surprised fans on his birthday today. He shared a teaser along with the film's release date. Hashmi will return to his beloved role, and the teaser gives fans a glimpse of what is in store for movie buffs.

Emraan Hashmi took to his Instagram handle and shared the teaser for Awarapan 2. The clip features visuals from Mohit Suri’s directorial Awarapan. It also includes heart-wrenching scenes of Emraan’s iconic character from the film, from standing on a boat, trying to kill himself, to setting a bird free from a cage. He narrates the story by saying, “Kisi aur ki zindagi ke liye marna hi meri manzil hai." The hit soundtrack Tera Mera Rishta from the movie in the background adds to the tone of the film, with flashbacks to the iconic moments. Along with the post, Emraan Hashmi wrote, “Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh… #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026. #Awarapan2.”

The original movie was helmed by Mohit Suri and Mukesh Bhatt under Vishesh Films. Starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead role, alongside Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles, Awarapan was released in 2007 and captivated audiences with its gripping storyline. What made it a fan-favorite was Emraan Hashmi's portrayal of Shivam, a henchman working for a Hong Kong-based gangster named Malik (Ashutosh Rana). Shivam is on a mission to keep an eye on his boss’s mistress, Reema (played by Shriya Saran). Embarking on this journey, his life changes after learning of her desire for freedom and love. For her, he goes against Malik’s orders to kill her and instead helps her reunite with her lover. This leads to a dangerous journey of redemption. Awarapan 2 is being directed by Nitin Kakkar and is produced by Vishesh Bhatt. The film is slated for release in theaters on April 3, 2026.
