Baahubali fame actor Sathyaraj aka Kattappa has recently shared his interest in playing the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his biopic. The star dismissed the report of any sort of project being approached to him. But he would be happy if Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith, or Mari Selvaraj direct the Modi biopic for him. A video has been circulated on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) where he can be seen talking about the same in a press conference.

Sathyaraj said, “Nobody has approached me (to play the role of Modi). Even if they do … I may have acted in it if it were directed by my friend late director Manivannan who used to show characters ‘as they were.” He then joked, “It would be great if Vetri Maaran or Pa Rajith or Mari Selvaraj directs the biopic.”

Netizens Reactions

As the post went viral on social media, people started sharing their opinions on his statement. A user wrote, “So he is hinting that if directed by them, the flim will be FLOP.” Another said, “Good luck waiting for that call, Sathyaraj! Maybe start working on your own biopic in the meantime!”

A comment read, “Oppression Depression Detected.” “Did he clearly say, No one approached me to act in that biopic or I'm not acting in such a biopic. Many think he's a man of Dravidian principles If BJP wins 3rd time, you must see his position,” said a user.

Earlier, he dismissed the reports being part of PM Modi’s biopic. In an interview with Minnambalam, Sathyara said “The news that I am acting in the Prime Minister Modi biopic is news even to me. Nobody has approached me to play PM Modi in the film. People spread random news on social media.”

"Back in the day, newspapers used to come up with stories like ‘Young woman murdered...Is it because of an illicit affair?’ Likewise, social media has become a place for such mindless rumours,” he added.
