On its opening day, Bad Newz secured an estimated Rs 8.62 crore in net earnings, as per early reports. According to trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, "#BadNewz has performed very well at major centres, while mass pockets saw ordinary to dull response... The strong performance at major centres is expected to drive growth on Sat and Sun... In all likelihood, #BadNewz should collect approx ₹ 33 [+/-] in its *opening weekend*, which is an excellent score."

The film exhibited a varied occupancy rate throughout the day on Friday, July 19, 2024, totaling an overall Hindi occupancy of 22.83%. Occupancy rates across different showtimes were as follows: morning shows saw 13.26%, afternoon shows rose to 19.14%, evening shows reached 21.74%, and the highest turnout was during night shows at 37.16%.
Regional breakdowns showed Mumbai with a 20.75% occupancy, Chennai leading with 54.50%, and the National Capital Region (NCR) at 26.00%.
Bad Newz Budget
Reportedly, Bad Newz was produced on a comprehensive budget of 80 Crores, which includes all expenses such as prints and advertising costs. The film is scheduled to release across approximately 2500 screens in India. To achieve a hit status, Bad Newz needs to gross around 90 Crores.
Bad Newz: Plot
Saloni Bagga (played by Tripti) and Akhil Chadha (played by Vicky) cross paths in a classic Bollywood-style meeting at a wedding. Akhil, characterized by his mama's boy traits and self-centered demeanor, marries Saloni. Their impulsive honeymoon in Greece takes an unexpected turn when Saloni decides to settle in Mussoorie on her own. There, she meets Gurbir Pannu (played by Ammy), a respectful hotel owner. A series of events, including a drunken night, leads to Saloni discovering she's pregnant with twins from different fathers.
