BAFTA 2025 Nominations: The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2025 have been announced and this year, Indian talent and films have made a significant mark. The ceremony, set for February 16, will celebrate excellence in cinema and India is well-represented, with films like All We Imagine As Light, Santosh and Sister Midnight securing nods.
All We Imagine As Light, directed by Payal Kapadia, has been nominated in the Best Film Not in the English Language category. The film tells the poignant story of two Malayali nurses, Prabha and Anu, navigating personal and emotional struggles in Mumbai. This nomination is a proud moment for Indian cinema, though Payal Kapadia missed out on a nomination for Best Director. The film had also been longlisted in three categories, including Best Original Screenplay, but only secured this single nomination.
Indian-origin filmmaker Dev Patel also garnered attention with his directorial debut, Monkey Man, which earned a nomination in the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer category. Santosh by Sandhya Suri and Sister Midnight by Karan Kandhari also received nods in the same category, marking a historic moment for Indian filmmakers at the BAFTAs.
